Lloyd Turns Down Young Money Offer, Signs With Interscope; New Song With Mystikal

After numerous rumors that R&B singer Lloyd would be signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money after his departure from Irv Gotti's Murder Inc., Lloyd explained his reasons for turning the offer down.

"Baby and Wayne were definitely the first people to reach out to me. I talked to them about a deal. That's who I thought I'd end up with in my heart. The problem is that Young Money/Cash Money is exclusive to Universal Motown. As you and I know, that's where I did my last two albums. I wasn't excited about going back."

After reassuring that there was no bad blood between him and any Young Money members, Lloyd went on to recognize Interscope for their previous successes and is satisfied with his decision.

"I love the way Interscope gets down. I love the way Jimmy Iovine, label head gets down. I've always had a good working relationship with Polow Da Don, producer. Having that creative partner is something I wanted to have, since the very beginning, to have that one creative partner."

In other news, Lloyd recently linked with former incarcerated New Orleans rapper Mystikal for their new track called Set Me Free. This is the rapper's first official single since being behind bars for six years for sexual battery and extortion charges.
