Reggae singer Jah Cure pleaded not guilty to drug possession charges, when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s yesterday.Jah Cure was arrested last week Thursday, after he was stopped and searched by the police along Dunrobin Avenue in Kingston, and a small quantity of ganja was allegedly found.
The maximum fine for this minor offense is J$100, however the entertainer is reportedly concerned that a conviction for this matter, may blight his otherwise clean record since his July 2007 release after serving a nine year prison term for rape.
He is scheduled to return to court on May 6.
