VH1 is hoping that the new programming will help them steer away from the celebrity dating reality TV shows they have become synonymous with, but keep them in good graces with the fans. Taking a step in the right direction, the channel, which is owned by Viacom, recently surveyed its viewers and asked them to help set the tone of the channel in terms of new shows.
" [Viewers] told us that they want to connect even more with our characters, our artists, and our celebrities -- but in a more genuine way," said Tom Valderone, president of VH1, in regards to the new line of shows coming up.
"They still enjoy VH1's signature sense of fun and irreverence, but they also want more storylines that reflect the issues and challenges they are experiencing in their own lives."
An airdate for the show is currently not available.
