During an interview on CNBC, Hip-Hop legend Dr. Dre declared that the long-awaited Detox album will indeed reach fans' ears this year.
Earlier in the week, pictures of the producer working in the studio with Jay-Z leaked onto the internet causing many to speculate of a possible collaboration between the two.
Interscope chairman, Jimmy Iovine later confirmed that Jay would be featured on the album by way of a track titled Over Pressure when he spoke with ESPN, and during his latest interview Dre said that the track, which has been selected as the lead single will be released very soon.
"Yes, hopefully we'll be releasing [Under Pressure] in the next two weeks or so," said Dre about the album's first single. "And I'm definitely gonna be putting the album out this year. Finally, you know, and I think everybody is gonna be happy with it. That's it right now. I'm just trying to finish this record, finally get it done, get it out and start promoting it."
Detox, an album that has been over a decade in the making, had become so plagued with delays that fans had begun to think that the album was nothing more than an urban legend. Dre would begin to work on the project only to put it on the back burner, so that he could handle the production on Eminem and 50's albums along with other projects. But it appears the wait will end soon, the album, which is the follow-up to Dre's The Chronic 2001, will reportedly feature collaborations from Eminem, 50 Cent, and The Game amongst others.
