Despite reports that Drake's long anticipated debut album would drop next month, the Young Money rapper recently revealed to MTV News that the actual release date is a little farther away. During the brief interview, Drake told MTV that Thank Me Later will be released on June 15 and that fans who attend his Away From Home tour will get a preview to his latest track Fireworks.
The album's first single Over was leaked onto the internet earlier this year along with an unfinished version of Shut It Down featuring R&B singer The-Dream.
Drake's Away From Home tour will kick off this Friday (April 9) at Penn State University and hit up 21 other cities before ending on May 8 in Plymouth, New Hampshire. His set will include a live band and he wants to create a mood where a "woman can come out and feel sexy."
"I don't know how people are gonna receive it," he said to Rolling Stone magazine. "I hope that they come to my tour with an open mind, because it's not me and Pleasure P and Trey Songz. It's not what people would necessarily expect. It's not the tour that's based around hip-hop or R&B music. To me it's based around refreshing sounds."
