Jay-Z Speaks About 'Watch The Throne' Album!

Recently, in an interview with radio personality Tim Westwood, rap mogul Jay-Z revealed details on Watch The Throne, the forthcoming album he is releasing with Chi-Town rapper Kanye West, which is scheduled to drop sometime in 2011.

“Yeah, before I came in to London, we [were] in Bath [England]. We [were] at the studio, Peter Gabriel’s studio,” the rapper told Westwood when asked if Watch The Throne will happen as the emcees promised fans earlier in the year. “And we recorded some songs there, so it’s exciting. It’s coming out.”

Jay-Z also revealed that the album, which has yet to receive an official release date, is very close to being finished. “It was a great, great, great vibe. Great things. We had fireworks coming out. We had a whole fireworks show. It was great,” he told Westwood.

In regards to working with Kanye on the album in Bath, the rapper continued by saying, “And then it’s this big room so everyone can sit in the room and add to the process. You had the producers in the room sitting all lined up. We were recording in the room, not the booth. We were recording in the control room so everyone got to see us while we were recording. Vocals and everyone had to be quiet.”

News of the collaborative effort between Jay-Z and Kanye hit media outlets back in August and the album, which was then rumored to be an EP, was only to consist of five tracks. However, Jay-Z confirmed with Westwood that the album will be double the size, consisting of ten tracks total instead.
