Tax Administration enforcers yesterday seized two luxury vehicles belonging to popular dancehall artiste, Bounty Killer.
The vehicles, a Range Rover and Totoya Land Cruiser, were said to have been seized because the deejay, whose real name is Rodney Pryce, owes the tax department millions of dollars in taxes.
Officials visited the deejay's Constant Spring Road apartment early yesterday morning and first confiscated his white Range Rover, while residents stood by watching. Sometime after, his Land Cruiser was also placed on a wrecker and taken away.
Communications director at the Tax Administration Department, Merris Haughton, would not give details, but confirmed that other entertainers are among several categories of persons being eyed.
"There is a serious problem with delinquency right across the board - entertainers, business persons and professionals," Haughton stressed.
She made it clear that she was not singling out entertainers, but indicated that a number of them are in arrears.
Efforts by THE STAR to contact Bounty after the incident were unsuccessful but his lawyer, Linda Wright, said that her client will be meeting with a chartered accountant today to review the matter.
She said that the deejay did file his annual returns, and paid monies to the tax department.
Wright further said that the tax department assessed Bounty for much more than he had paid and the artiste objected.
Last month, the Tax Department also seized a Mercedes Benz motorcar from the home of dancehall star 'Elephant Man' whose real name is Oneil Bryan.
Grammy award-winning deejay, 'Beenie Man', whose real name is Moses Davis, was also hauled before the tax court in 2008 for allegedly owing millions of dollars in taxes.

The producer also went on claiming that, "To identify that feeling is something that's amazing because it doesn't only come from your partner. It comes from your love for music, your love for people, your love for a lot of things, and I think that once you identify the feeling of love, you'll be a better person."
In the last couple of month, Swizz has been under the spotlight for his public divorce from ex-wife, Mashonda.

Richie Loop leaves for US!
With his song My Cupp blowing across the region and along the eastern seaboard of the United States, emerging star Richie Loop is about to embark on a promotional tour of the United States as he reaches for greater success in the music industry.
The 23-year-old producer-singer exploded on to the scene earlier this year, less than a year after joining the Scikron Entertainment/Big Yard label. His hit party song My Cupp is dominating music charts all over. The song is currently number one in Toronto and on the Chris Coxsone Reggae Charts in New York Style UK; number three on the Caribbean Top 20 charts and on the Digicel Caribbean Top 30 charts; number six on the South Florida Top 25 Reggae Charts and number seven on the NY Reggae Charts.
He also has several other songs getting frequent airplay, including Party Like it's your Birthday with D-Major and Busy Signal, She Wants it Good, Party Time and Mi Want Mi Own.
But under the guidance of Robert Livingston, Richie Loop is planning to strike while the iron, or in this case, My Cupp is hot. So, accompanied by the Big Yard CEO, Richie Loop will leave on Sunday to take on the US East Coast for a month.
loop's schedule
Based on his schedule, Richie Loop is down to make appearances on September 2 in Boston on Jammin' 94.5 with Pup Dog; September 3 at 102 Jams Reggae Fest at Club Lux in Orlando, Florida; September 4 at Anything Goes: The Labour Day Edition in Manhattan, New York; September 5 at Mr Cee's Five Alarm Blaze also in New York; September 16 at WZMX radio show in New Haven, Connecticut; September 17 at the Hot 106 Reggae Show at Lupo's Heart Break Hotel on Rhode Island and on September 30 at DJ Pup Dog Party at the Roxy Nightclub in Boston.
The schedule seems daunting but Loop says he is preparing for it and remains focused. "I am not overly excited. I am staying focused and just getting ready for the tour," said the young entertainer, who also had a hand in producing reggae star Gentleman's hit To The Top that features Chris Martin.
The tour, he says, is an opportunity for people to get to know him. "I just want people to see me for who I am, both onstage and off," he said.

Nicki Minaj wants to work with Kartel?!
It seems that a collaboration between deejay Vybz Kartel and American rapper Nicki Minaj is not out of the question for the near future.
Last Saturday, the rapper, who is known for songs such as Your Love and Bedrock, posted on her official social- networking page twitter.com that she wants to work with the controversial deejay. Minaj tweeted, "I need Vybz Kartel for Pink Friday." Pink Friday is the official name of her debut album which is scheduled for release on November 23 on the Young Money-Universal Motown label.
ready to work
When contacted by THE STAR, Kartel was unaware of her desire to work with him but was more than ready to work with the rapper. He said, "I would definitely do it. No charge, just work out something in the Rampin' Shop. Although every female artiste wants to collab with the Teacha, for all I know that could be a fake tweet, a prank tweet. If she really want to do di, tell her me deh pon di Gaza."
unofficial collabo
Minaj has worked with Jamaican artistes before, with her unofficial collaboration with Gyptian on the Billboard chart-topping hit Hold Yuh. The remix was popular on youtube.com and garnered a lot of attention. The rapper was in Jamaica earlier this year with Jamaican singer Sean Kingston to shot the video for their song Letting Go (Dutty Love) in Ocho Rios.
In the meantime, the normally media-friendly Vybz Kartel has been quiet in the weeks since his arrest during the state of emergency that was implemented in Kingston after the siege in Tivoli.
According to Kartel, he has been busy in the studio with a number of releases. He said, "I have singles No Lie and Taptada for DJ Kareem, Conscience Set Yuh Free and Making A Baby for Notnice. Plus I just finished the Dream video with Popcaan to premiere this Friday on ER and I am now doing a video for Chrome's Dumpa Truck. Popcaan and Sheba are off to Trinidad on Friday, Gaza Slim just wrecked Tobago and I'll be at Club Jamaica this Saturday with the usual suspects."

Beenie Man turns 37 - Doc celebrates with D'Angel by his side!
Beenie Man born Moses Davis, along with wife D'Angel, who was beaming by his side, celebrated his 37th birthday inside the Building nightclub
in New Kingston, on Saturday night - Red Bull style.
After building the anxiety of patrons and well-wishers, the King of the Dancehall showed up just minutes after 2 a.m. His mode of transport, a Red Bull van that resembled a miniature tank, that was used as a mobile refrigerator and sound system.
The artiste stood in the back by the disc jock who was armed with a turntable, while Future Fambo's hit featuring Beenie Man, Rum and Red Bull belted out of the sound boxes with the video being played on plasma screens attached to the van. The van was being led by the notorious Red Bull Mini Cooper that was followed by an SUV with Beenie's comrades.
By this time some patrons exited the club and flocked the staircase, while others made their way to the entrance to get a glimpse of Davis, clad in a dapper suit.
The van was once again mobile as it rolled further down Knutsford Boulevard, seemingly on a tour of New Kingston.
Beenie's initial arrival was somewhat of a diversion, however, as he never entered the club through the main entrance, but instead, expertly evaded fans who he left standing on the staircase long after he had entered the club through the emergency exit.
Mr and Mrs Moses Davis were beaming as they made their way through the crowd to the VIP section, where they partied the night away.
LIME, Red Bull and Street Vybz Rum were official sponsors of the birthday bash and as such, not only were there some curvaceous LIME promotional girls on stage gyrating to Kartel's latest lyrics; but there were cell phones and other giveaways from LIME. Street Vybz Rum and Red Bull were the mix of choice for patrons who danced to just about everything the selector dished out.
The likes of the Portmore Empire, Orville Hall, Black-er and other members of the entertainment fraternity came out to show their support for the dancehall veteran.

Beenie says Bounty truce real - Artiste to celebrate birthday, wedding anniversary - Also working on new album!
After years of rivalry, Beenie Man said the truce that has been called between himself and Bounty Killer is a real one and not an act being put on by them.
When contacted by THE WEEKEND STAR, Beenie Man explained that he is pleased with the unity between himself and Bounty Killer. He said that when they were told to call a truce via an external party, the peace is not likely to last. However, the fact that they came together as men, means that they are serious about making peace.
"It is actually real," Beenie Man told THE WEEKEND STAR. "This one is real, honest. This is not for any hype or anything 'cause wi nuh really need no hype 'cause hype only talk bout for three months and then it stop," he said, noting that the business needs them to be positive.
performed together
The two have been at odds since 1993 when Bounty accused Beenie of piracy. They also squared off at Sting in 1993 and have been bitter rivals since.
Earlier this month, Bounty Killer invited Beenie Man to perform with him at Guinness Summer Eclipse that was held at The Jungle in Negril. Then, they performed together at Fully Loaded a week later.
But this is not the first time they have declared peace, as they did this before, hugging in a televised meeting in 1994 and exchanging songs onstage at Sting in 1995.
Nonetheless, Beenie Man says the song that they are doing together since calling the truce should be released by next week, as he has already done his part and is waiting on Bounty Killer to complete his. He said the song is being produced by Leftside and is a 'girls song'.
In addition, the artiste, who turns 38 years old on Sunday, will be celebrating his birthday at The Building, New Kingston, tomorrow.
He says, "It always feels good to celebrate another birthday. Nuff people nuh live to see this age, so you have to be very happy."
Beenie Man will also be celebrating his wedding anniversary on Sunday. "Di anniversary different," he said, noting that it will be celebrated privately.
And when asked if he was working on his marriage with D'Angel, his response was "pretty much".
As for his career, Beenie Man says it is going very well after decades in the music business.
"Mi get back two number ones for the summer (I'm Ok and Drinking Rum and Red Bull featuring Fambo). Things are going on fine for my career. All the songs that I sing over the last three months going on good," he said noting that some of the songs that were not as popular in Jamaica went to number one in other countries.
Beenie Man also mentioned his newest album, King In Control, that will be released by November.
He says the public can expect "nothing but the best. You know when mi put out an album, you can play it inna yuh car and nuh skip a song".

LA Lewis warns Raga, Ms Kitty!
Dancehall artiste LA Lewis claims he has been the victim of an unfair fight in the industry ever since his much-publicised altercation with Beenie Man. This fight, he says, is coming from radio personalities and DJs who will stop at nothing to hinder his development.
He is appealing to persons to stop taking sides in the matter and be fair. He says, "Persons are taking sides in the thing when they weren't invited. They didn't call me to find out my side of the story."
He claims that Ragashanti and Ms Kitty are among some of the personalities who have disrespected him following the incident.
"When I approached Raga to go on his show to make my side heard, he told me that he don't want to hear anything from me, a just Beenie im a tek talk from," he said.
"Ms Kitty also hit out against me. At first mi neva pay no mind to her 'petrolent' behaviour, but she went on her TV programme an continue to diss mi. Mi call her to ask her bout it and she gave me the runaround and avoided my calls. She's saying how LA has no money and that he's poor. My word to Ms Kitty is that I'm not poor, I'm 'sobolius', and she fi memba where she's coming from, she get a likkle buss in life, she's not to overstep her boundaries," says Lewis.
"I am asking the disc jockeys to stop taking sides. It's not their job to pick sides. That's corruption, if this is where the business is heading I don't want to see the future of it," added Lewis.
spreading like wildfire
In response to comments Lewis says that Beenie Man has been making that LA Lewis is not a DJ, he is a graffiti artiste, "My thing to Beenie is, if you think LA Lewis is just a graffiti artiste, why are you afraid of LA lyrically? Why are you hiding behind some wannabe disc jockeys?"
Lewis also sought to clear the air on a rumour which he says has been spreading like wildfire. "People have been saying that me and Sharon Burke are at odds because of the Voicemail issue. She believes I overdid it with the autograph signing at Oneil's funeral. However, we're still on good terms, Sharon Burke and I are good friends, and I have the highest respect for her as a person and fellow figure in the music industry. The only person I am in friction with is Beenie Man and Goofy."
"Mek Beenie and Goofy know that if they aren't girls or cowards, they must come out and face mi lyrically, and stop hide behind people because the LA Lewis now is not the LA Lewis then. I've done my homework and I've grown up, now I'm a lyrical machine." says Lewis.
When THE STAR contacted Ms Kitty, she said that she was not at any time in a disrespecting game with LA Lewis but she had a problem with his dastardly and scoundrel-like behaviour at former Voicemail member Oneil's funeral.
"LA Lewis is not on my level for me to disrespect him. Di only ting wi business bout is our friend that bury and gone, wi nuh business bout LA Lewis. If he sees my correcting him on my show as being disrespectful, he needs help. Mi nah focus pon nuh locus!" she said.

Jay-Z's Hip-Hop Top Earner With $63 Mil, Diddy Rakes In $30 Mil!
Forbes has dropped its annual list of the top money makers in Hip-Hop music and rap mogul Jay-Z has topped the list for a second straight year.
According to the report, Jay-Z, born Sean Carter, raked in $63 million over the past 12 months.
He will pay the government about $22 million, more than any other artist earned on the entire list, excluding Sean "Diddy" Combs, the #2 earner with $30 million.
"We put together this list by applying the same rigorous methodology we apply to our research for the Forbes 400, the Celeb 100 and other specials," Forbes writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg told AllHipHop.com.
Greenburg, who is also penning a business-focused biography on Jay-Z told AllHipHop.com that information was gathered "concrete data" provided by companies like Billboard, Pollstar, Niesen Soundscan, the Recording Industry Association of America.
Additionally, Forbes conducted its own investigative research through interviews with executives, lawyers, media buyers, label executives and various artists.
"This year's rankings show that Hip-Hop's most financially successful artists continue to be the ones who've diversified their revenue streams," Greenburg told AllHipHop.com.
This year, the rappers earned a combined $300 million in earnings, which is almost equal to the amount that was generated last year, despite a troubled music business and an ailing economy.
Both Jay-Z and Diddy's income was generated by their various business ventures.
Jay-Z still has a stake in Rocawear, owns the 40/40 nightclub, is still touring and owns a stake in the New Jersey Nets.
Diddy made his cash from his television businesses, including his Diddybeats earbuds and his partnership with Ciroc vodka.
"Ten or fifteen years ago, everyone had to have their own record label; a few years later, the trend was to have a clothing line," Greenburg continued. "Now, those are prerequisites for a Hip-Hop empire, and the new must is having your own brand of alcohol. Diddy made more from his Ciroc deal than from any of his other sources of income, and Ludacris, T.I. and others are following suit."
Akon checked in at #3 with $21 million earned through a deal with Pepsi, his Konvict Clothing line and his Kon Live record label, which is home to Lady Gaga, T-Pain, Kardinall Offishall and others.
Lil Wayne checked in at #4 with $20 million earned from his hit album Rebirth and through his endless touring schedule.
Super producer Dr. Dre was #5 on the list with $17 million earned, while Ludacris was #6 with $16 million earned off movie roles and his exclusive new line of cognac, Conjure.
West coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg's appearances on television and in films and a worldwide tour landed him at #7.
Famed Producer Timbaland is listed at #8 with $14 million, followed by fellow producer Pharrell Williams, who raked in $13 million to take the #9 position through his Ice Cream/Billionaire Boys Club clothing line, as well as his involvement in creating the soundtrack to the animated hit, Despicable Me.
Despite a low profile over the past 12 months, Kanye West landed at #10 with $12 million earned through his various business endeavors, including producing hit records.
The rest of the Top 20 are listed below:
11. Drake $10 million
12. T.I. $9 million (Tied)

Razz and Biggy a hit in Europe!
With the summer in full swing and the appeal for good quality reggae/dancehall music on a high, the dynamic duo known as Razz & Biggy continue creating waves of memorable performances. Locally they have already been booked and represented well at many of the 'must go' events for what is the 'high party season' in Jamaica.
On the international scene, they have been equally as busy representing dancehall/reggae music with, international reggae star, Serani.
August 1 saw them at the XS Nightclub in Toronto, Ontario, rocking the stage one last time; holding the brakes on what was a two-month long tour which saw them going across various venues in and around Europe and Canada. While Razz stayed in Jamaica to carry on the duties of the duo, Biggy found himself playing in front of 25 jam packed venues for the duration of the tour that saw him thrilling crowds at events/venues such as 'Summer jam' in Germany, DA SHAKE in Belgium, Club Ice in Cyprus, Majestic Club in Paris and The Green Bottle, Colossal Nightclub, Hungarian Hall in Canada, amongst others.
energetic performances
After a successful tour in March of this year which saw Biggy, Serani and the team delivering fun-filled and energetic performances across Europe, the word quickly spread about their vibe-filled sets and soon requests were being sent for repeat performances and also for visits to new locations/events.
Events like Summerjam which is easily one of the largest and well supported reggae/dancehall festivals in Europe saw thousands of enthusiastic supporters flocking to Germany to enjoy music from some of the more highly requested entertainers representing the dancehall genre. Though Biggy did not share the main stage he played and supported Serani on his set on the smaller stage to much satisfaction from the patrons in attendance.
"It was pleasantly surprising that people so far from us in Jamaica can be singing the songs that are playing in the dancehall locally", Biggy commented about his experience at Summer Jam 2010.
With just a few weeks left before summer officially ends, fans are gearing up for another mini-tour featuring Razz and Biggy touching venues across Europe once more, to date five events have already been confirmed and promoters are pitching to add other events that will adequately satisfy the thirst of the Europeans for music straight out of Jamaica. Summer 2010 continues to one of the more eventful ones for the dynamic duo.

T.I.'s "King Uncaged" Gets Pushed Back Indefinitely!
T.I.’s forthcoming LP, King Uncaged, has been pushed back by the King Of The South himself. The Atlanta-based rapper says his main focus right now is the release of his new movie, Takers, and once he has finished promoting the flick then he will return to the studio to work on some new songs for his first post-incarceration album.
“I pushed the album back so I can completely focus my attention to the rollout and release of this film Takers,” said Tip while talking to Rap-Up.com. “I feel it wouldn’t be fair to the film or the album if I was splitting my attention span amongst the two, so I hit pause on the album to completely focus my attention to rolling out this here film.”
“And once we prayerfully debut No.1. 25-plus, 20-plus million, then after those bottles have been popped and that celebration [is] underway, I will completely re-submerge myself back into the music, fully on album mode.”
King Uncaged was originally scheduled to be released this month but then got pushed back to September 28th. It’s currently unknown what the new release date will be. Takers hits theaters on August 24th and will feature the likes of Matt Dillon, Michael Ealy, Idris Elba, Hayden Christensen, and Chris Brown.

Denyque's 'Summer Love' hits iTunes!
Every girl's summer anthem is now available in popular music marketplace, iTunes. Denyque's Summer Love was released on iTunes a few weeks ago, but the singer decided to hold back on announcing it, pending the release of the video for the song.
While the song is continuing to boom locally, the artiste's manager, Jade Lee, said it is making waves in other markets.
"What we noticed, when Summer Love was just released, is that there was a definite interest in this song and more so in Denyque's sound. She has an interesting mix of dancehall, pop, and a little R&B, happening for her and it is fresh," Lee commented.
She said the time was right to make the official announcement that the track is available on iTunes, especially since Denyque continues to receive outpourings of approval from Internet users, music lovers, entertainers, producers, critics and fans.
While the Cash Flow-produced Summer Love promises to heat up iTunes, Denyque is already preparing to release more singles before the summer is out. She has been hard at work with producers Jeremy Harding, Neil Mitchell and Conroy Forte.
At 20 years old, this singer/songwriter has reached a level of musical maturity that is far beyond her years, a distinctive and innate talent that promises to be one of Jamaica's finest. Denyque is determined to take her place in music history.
Since Summer Love premiered on local television
two weeks ago, people have been logging on to social networking site Facebook and video-hosting website YouTube to see the video, which Denyque is very pleased about.
"Everyone is giving me such good feedback on the video, and I know that doing a video can be a tricky thing. So to get great reviews on my first attempt makes me really happy and excited," she said.
Denyque said with the aid of the video, and plans to take it to the North American and Caribbean markets, it will give the song that added element to make it a success on iTunes.

Beyonce Talks About Having A Child With Jay-Z!
Beyonce, in an interview with UK’s Daily Mail, talked about her future plans with starting a family with her husband, Jay-Z, and how challenging it is for her to actually find the time to have a child.
The couple has always been very private on their relationship, but this time the former Destiny’s Child singer opens up about how being a business woman can get in the way of being a wife and, eventually, a mother.
Beyonce stated that, “For me, balance is always really hard to find. I love so many different things, and to have the discipline to turn certain things away and focus on one thing at a time so that I can give it 100 percent is really hard.”
“Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time -- making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume. I am like any other woman who has a child, who has a husband, who has a job. I think it’s the hardest thing about being a woman because we have so many responsibilities.”
Beyonce, who finished her world tour at the beginning of this year, is currently promoting her new fragrance, Heat.

Ja Rule: 'My Downfall Is Caused By 50 Cent'!
In a recent interview for VIBE, Ja Rule explained why he went from leading the charts and selling over 6 million units with his third album Pain Is Love, published in 2001, to a downfall that barely allowed him to reach the charts. According to what the former Murda Inc. rapper said, 50 Cent and the beef between them was the major cause of Rule’s fall.
Regardless of his lack of success since Pain Is Love, Ja Rule says he has never lacked support from the music industry. “I've been getting support from basically everybody in the industry. Nobody has really been unsupportive of me at all. I think a lot of people may not openly be around and vouch for me, but nobody has not taken my calls. While I was feeling on the outside, I still felt like I was on the inside, you feel me? A lot of artists out there made me feel real warm and let me know, 'Nigga, you still that nigga. You put it down.' A lot of artists are good with me.”
Ja moves on to discuss the new rap generation and who are his favorite artists at the moment. “I like Drake. I like Nicki [Minaj]. I like the dude Tyga, that’s on the Chris Brown mixtape. I like J. Cole, he doing his thing. I even like Soulja Boy. The little nigga smart, man. He make his records and do his thing, ain’t bothering nobody. It’s too much hate in this game. Hate is for suckas, man.”
Ja Rule will release his newest album, The Renaissance Project, at the end of 2010.

D'Angel forgives Beenie - Couple appears to be working on relationship!
After making several public appearances together in recent times, D'Angel says she has forgiven her husband Beenie Man and plans to leave their marriage in God's hands.
The two were recently spotted at the Guinness premiere of The Expendables at the Carib theatre on Friday night. They hugged and walked closely, taking pictures for their fans, and the media, at intervals.
And it was just last month that the couple performed together at Reggae Sumfest.
Despite what was a very bitter, public break-up in 2007, after getting married in 2006, the two seem to be on good terms and D'Angel says she has forgiven him for what transpired between them.
"Most definitely! 'Cause, if God has forgiven us for our sins, who am I not to forgive him. I am stronger now and I am very focused. I have moved on from the past and I have forgiven him," she told THE STAR.
She added, "If I forgive him, that don't make me a stupid woman. I have learnt from it and I am stronger. I have overcome. I can battle any weather. I am like the Rock of Gibraltar."
As for working on their marriage, D'Angel was reluctant to say much.
"Where our personal life is concerned, I would rather not comment. Where the marriage is concerned, we leave that in God's hands. Marriages always have ups and downs," she told THE STAR.
"Regardless of what happened in the past, we have to look beyond that. Me and Moses as husband and wife is something that we have to work on outside of the media," she added.
And not only do they share a marriage, but D'Angel said they also share a child, who she wants to set an example for. In addition, she says she is a role model to many teenagers and women.
"At the end of the day, we entertain and we do music. So we have to set examples," she said, noting that she has to live up to the brands that she represents like Coke Zero, Digicel and Access Financial Services.
D'Angel also noted that they have been making public appearances since 2008. However, she said: "Being with Moses in public, I am not doing it for recognition or hype. I am not looking for no success or fame as a result of this. If every artiste a call peace now, why can't we?"
In the meantime, she said You Are My First, which she did with Beenie Man is doing well. So, too, is her other single Come Over. D'Angel is also set to release another track called Yes Mi Know, which features Beenie Man, in the near future.

Controversial Dancehall Artiste Lisa Hyper says her musical career has been steadily rising, especially in light of recent success with Nuh Stress Mi Out, a collaboration with veteran dancehall artiste Beenie Man.
The artiste, who is steadily recovering from the impact of the controversial pictures that were circulating with her image in 2009, says that her determination is what keeps her afloat. "I always pray and never lose faith and that always give me the persistence to carry on." She said.
The artiste who has been sidelined by some members of the music industry
since the controversy, says that Beenie Man is a good person, and keeps it strictly business and musical. "Beenie Man gives positive energy and he is all about the music, and nothing will get in the way when it comes to music," she said.
Nuh Stress Mi Out, produced by Sankofa productions, is the third collaboration effort between both artistes, after singles like Nuh Kill Mi and I Am Burning which were released before gaining limited success, according to Lisa Hyper.

However, Hyper believes that this song will be more successful than the other two due to the great responses she has been getting so far.
"Wi a get good airplay fi di single and people on the streets a tell mi sey dem love it," she said. According to the artiste, a video will be made soon for the single because she intends to go all out with the promotions this time around.
Lisa Hyper, who made it mainstream as a member of the Portmore Empire, says that she met Bennie Man before being fully established.
"Beenie's studio is in Oakland and I was spending sometime there, so I took a walk up there and that's how we met. I deejayed for him and he liked it and we recorded the song Nuh Kill Mi," she recalled.
According to Hyper, the song Nuh Stress Mi Out came about when Beenie Man approached her manager Nuffy and told him that he had a song, and she would be the perfect person to feature in it. Following that development, the link was made and the single was recorded.
The 21-year-old artiste says that her summer is mostly used for rebuilding, and the rest the year is going to be very hectic, starting with her birthday bash in November. She also has a tour lined up for Canada and some other shows overseas.
"The response overseas is great, dem love mi, people come to my shows more than once just to see me perform," she said.
Another new single is also on the way for Hyper called Tell Dem Fi Clear Out on the Clear Out rhythm, and a video release for her group 21 Bad Gal called A Our Time.

Time for Summer Love ...singer Denyque to release first video!
Singer Denyque Dontré is excited that her first video, for the single Summer Love, is ready to air and will be premiered on local television starting this weekend.
"I have been wanting to do a video for a long time, but I knew my first video had to be for the right single, and Summer Love is it!" the elated songbird exclaimed.
Jade Lee, the singer's manager, expressed that she herself was proud and thrilled about Summer Love, adding that she is optimistic about the song's potential.
"Well it does have that crossover feel and we are definitely looking at it on an international level. Denyque is a very hard-working and talented artiste, so we don't have to worry about quality and appeal of her music," Lee said.
Denyque says the idea came to her when she and friend and co-writer Charli Spence sat down after producer Neil Mitchell sent her the track.
"I got the track from Neil Mitchell, I vibed to it a little bit trying to figure out concepts. I knew I wanted to do something about summer and maybe intertwine it with something else whether it was partying or love.
"For me, Summer Love is just what it is - summer love. Finding some sort of comfort zone in your heart; mind or body during the summer season. Every girl, and sometimes guys, actually look forward to the idea of finding someone in summer to just chill and be with. It might last, it might not but it'll always be remembered as Summer Love"
It was then that Denyque and Spence co-wrote the catchy tune, and the rest is history. She says that working with Mitchell was amazing and shooting her first video was "incredible". Showering kudos on the team that worked on the project, Denyque said the set was fun-filled, and the entire crew was supportive.
At 20 years old, this singer/songwriter has reached a level of musical maturity that is far beyond her years with a distinctive and innate talent that promises to be one of Jamaica's finest and Denyque is determined to take her place in music history.

Gyptian to tour with Nas, Jr Gong!
For reggae singer Windel Edwards, more popularly known as Gyptian, the past few months have been extremely hectic and currently show no signs of slowing down.
Cristy Barber, vice-president of marketing and promotions at VP Records, yesterday told THE WEEKEND STAR that the singer would begin touring with Nas and Damian 'Junior Gong' Marley come the end of the August on their Distant Relatives Tour.
The news broke yesterday while on set of his video for his second single Nah Let You Go, but the STAR of the month is not at all daunted by his growing schedule. Instead, the singer said he was happy for his success despite everything that has happened.
"Well you know it's all good. I'm giving thanks and praises for life. Very happy about the tour coming up, naturally it's all about music, so we haffi endorse it," he said, adding that his focus right now was to get the album out.
On June 7, Gyptian was involved in a motorbike accident along Molynes Road in St Andrew, in which he sustained minor head and shoulder injuries. He released his fourth studio album Hold You a little over two weeks ago.
The album's lead single of the same name entered the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop charts on March 27 at No 78 and has risen steadily. According to Billboard.com, the single currently sits at No 41, and has the greatest airplay and sales gain this week. So far, the song has peaked at number Four on Billboard's 'Heatseekers songs' chart which maps this week's most popular songs across all formats by new or developing artistes.

Nicki Minaj Announces "Pink Friday"; Debut Album Coming Soon!
Nicki Minaj revealed her debut album title to fans during an Ustream broadcast last night (August 3). The Young Money rapper will release the LP on November 23rd, the Tuesday prior to Black Friday, and therefore decided to name the project, Pink Friday.
“To carry on a great tradition of Black Friday, we are going to switch it up this year in honor of the Nicki Minaj album and call that day Pink Friday, and call my album Pink Friday,” announced Minaj towards the end of the nearly four hour chat.
For all of her fans who weren’t able to pull up the broadcast, Nicki also tweeted the album title. “11.23.10. - Pink Friday - The Album,” wrote the femcee.
Talking about the LP with MTV News, earlier this year, Minaj said: “When people hear the album, they’re going to get to know Onika [her birth name is Onika Maraj]. And no one knows Onika. I really didn’t think I would be this excited about the songs that I’m coming up with. I’m really, really proud.”
The Young Money MC released the project’s debut single Massive Attack earlier in the year but it failed to take off. Her second single Your Love though took the top spot on the Billboard Rap Songs chart.
Pink Friday will feature collaborations with Swizz Beatz and Boi-1da, amongst others.

Bounty, Beenie share stage - Killer says performance was not planned!
Deejay Bounty Killer says his performance alongside long-time musical foe, Beenie Man, on Sunday in Negril, Westmoreland, was not planned.
On Sunday, Bounty brought a memorable end to the Guinness Summer Eclipse at The Jungle, when he invited Beenie onstage.
"It was nothing planned. I was booked and was doing my thing an' a do some counteraction to some Beenie songs. Den mi stop an' sey mi a leggo off a da vibe dey an mi big up Beenie. But mi neva know sey Beenie was in di house," said Bounty when contacted by THE STAR yesterday.
The deejay said, at that point, Beenie Man made it known that he was present and the crowd urged him to call 'The Doc' onstage.
"The crowd was indicating for me to call him up, an' true a me sey unity it was only right that wi put wi differences aside. Is a good ting and is the honourable thing to do, lead by example an' use di music to uplift the people," he said
"Weh di Docta deh?" Bounty had quizzed during his performance on Sunday, shortly after Beenie had arrived in the venue. Patrons then erupted as Beenie Man came onstage and shared a brief embrace with Bounty.
The two then went into a medley of their old favourites, reminiscent of their 1993 Sting appearance.
The performance was a rare dancehall moment by two of the genres most endearing artistes. Despite the many public spats over the past 18 years, their performance signified that both were appreciative of each other's musical greatness.
tremendous vibe
During yesterday's interview, Bounty who was still in good spirits after Sunday's performance, said that "Di vibe was tremendous an di people dem love every moment of it," he said.
The deejay said the onstage performance between him and Beenie is something he hopes to repeat.
"It is something we should do again, cause mi know sey Kingston an all ova waan see dat. And I think it will set di precedence for the Gully-Gaza conflict. Suh even if dem waan sen Kartel, a guh be di same vibe. Anything fi uplift di people, I'm for it."
He, however, made sure to point out that, "the difference wid me an Beenie neva died, it jus put aside."
Before Beenie Man's cameo on Sunday, Bounty had been in peak form with songs from his vast catalogue from 'Look into my eyes' to 'Mama she's not in a good mood' to 'This is how we do it'.
He was commanding, strong in his delivery and also philosophical. Bounty spoke on several social issues and said that after voicing his support for the police at Reggae Sumfest, he was disappointed to see a news report of two officers shooting an unarmed man last Friday.
Also performing at the event were Agent Sasco, also known as Assassin, who connected with 'Same Ting Again', 'Hand to Mouth' and 'EeediatTing Dat', Wayne Marshall, Ikaya, Chi Ching Ching and the Big Ship family of Chino, Laden, Bramma and Di Genius
The Guinness Summer Eclipse was a two-night event of superb performances, featuring dancehall's hottest artistes.
After the event, commenting on the Bounty and Beenie performance, Guinness brand manager Gary Dixon said; "This was a truly great moment. Two of dancehall's most enduring and significant artistes sharing a rare moment together onstage."
