Producer and singjay Demarco has his plate full with a baby on the way, the closing of his wine bar Chateaux Vino and migrating to the United States.

The STAR caught up with the singjay via telephone in Atlanta where he has been staying for some time now while putting in some hard work to ensure that his career crosses over into the mainstream US market. Adding to all the career activities, Demarco is expecting the birth of his first child.

"My record label (Starkutt and Koch) believed it was a good idea to come up here for a while to do some work with other artistes here. My wife (Terry Edwards) she's having a baby close, in a couple of months, so no one is there in Jamaica to manage the place."

bad for business

Demarco opened the doors to his swanky Chateaux Vino in November of last year and officially closed it three weeks ago. According to the singjay, the ongoing state of emergency which began before the siege on Tivoli was bad for business and was one of the considerations in his closing of the bar. However, he explained there is always the possibility of opening another business in the future saying, "when we settle and come back to Jamaica we'll open summen even better."

Originally from Jamaica, Demarco moved to the United States in 1999 where he lived and worked on his musical craft before returning to Jamaica in late 2005. Upon returning to Jamaica he started producing a number of popular songs and rhythms before starting his singing career with the hit Fallen Soldiers.

Now the artiste is back in the States with the intention of working on his craft some more. "I will always come back to Jamaica, but we're really based up here right now and I'm back and forth. Jamaica a mi place, mi can't figet weh we come from. I want to get into the business here and get people to know me and stuff, I got this opportunity to get out there so I just have to take it," he said.

Not knowing how long he and his wife will be staying in the States, Demarco was glowing over the soon-to-be-birth of his son. According to Demarco his wife is seven months along, saying, "I feel good, great, I will soon have my lil son and my wife doesn't feel no way coming here to have the baby."

In the meantime, the artiste is busy with work. He released his 'Premium' rhythm since year, as well as recent songs such as Prayer and Push It with Ce'cile. His Show It featuring Craig Jackson premiered on BET's 106 and Park and he said, "we've been getting a lot of shows for that song. I'm suppose to do a tour in Europe and then Japan." He is also currently working on the release of his debut album.
