In the midst of the lavish white-themed launch of the Smirnoff Dream Weekend last night at the RedBones Blues Café in New Kingston, it was the announcement of the early bird ticket price for the dream band that got the crowd's attention.
At only $8,000, the early bird special, which was unveiled by singer Richie Loop through the de-robing of the Dream weekend promotional girls, grabbed the crowd's attention.

Outside of the early bird special, regular armbands (which gives access to the seven parties), will be priced at $10,000, only a $500 increase from the previous year.
Taking over from Red Stripe as the title sponsor, Smirnoff this year, according to the promoters, are planning an even bigger dream than that of last year - the inauguration of the Dream Weekend in Negril.
Taking place from July 30 - August 2, the schedule includes Smirnoff Flavours and Twisted Spiritz, on Friday July 30, Daydreams and Yush, on Saturday July 31, Xtreme Wet 'N' Wild and Beer Vibes, on Sunday August 1 and Smirnoff Xclusive closes the weekend, on Monday August 2.
At the launch, Smirnoff's Marsha Lumluy was quick to announce that based on consumer studies from last year, Dream Weekend had the best line up of events for the Negril weekend. In a fun 'awards show' Lumluy gave out awards to the top-three events for the weekend which were Daydreams, Xtreme Wet 'N' Wild and Smirnoff Xclusive.
Lumluy added, "in five weeks Smirnoff Dream Weekend will unveil an experience of endless possibilities."
Leading up to Dream Weekend, the road to Negril will be lined with parties including the weekly Smirnoff Dream Nights every Saturday at Margaritaville, and every Friday night at Club Privilege. Other lead-up events include Smirnoff Osmosis on July 3 and Heineken Igloo on July 18.
The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) Michael Nicholson also announced that the Dream Weekend will be a JCDC endorsed event as part of the 'festival of celebrations.' He said, "the weekend is a celebration for the young and the young at heart."
After a quick question segment it was back to partying for the rest of the night for the first Dream Weekend pre-party.
